These fudgy Nutella brownies have a deep chocolate flavor, a swirled Nutella top, and a secret espresso boost. One bowl, no mixer, ready in 45 minutes!
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together ¾ cup Nutella, the melted butter, and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until no streaks of flour remain. Do not overmix.
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Warm the remaining ¼ cup Nutella for 10–15 seconds in the microwave until it is easy to drizzle. Spoon it over the brownie batter and use a butter knife or skewer to gently swirl it into the top.
Bake for 25–28 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking for the fudgiest brownies.
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Lift them out using the parchment paper, slice into squares, and serve.
Notes
Underbake slightly, not fully — pull the pan when the center still looks a touch underdone. It will continue to set as it cools.
Let them cool completely before slicing — I know it's hard to wait, but warm brownies fall apart. For the cleanest slices, chill the pan for 30 minutes before cutting.
Store the nutella brownies in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
